Previous to 1917 the Hospital did not own an ambulance. It was decided to include such an item in the forthcoming budget; and then in the following spring, work was started on a building suitable to house the first ambulance which was a Cadillac costing $3,500. The building was finished during the summer and stood by the original general store and laundry. It was a brick building 38 feet long, 23 feet wide, and two stories high. This building was later used for storage.
