In 1895, a double residence was constructed for the use of Dr. Bennett, the Superintendent, and for the chief clerk and bookkeeper. Mr. Keenan. Formerly, the bookkeeper resided in Wayne and, consequently, was not in the Institution when most needed. It was also necessary because of the installation of a post office, an express office, and a freight office and that the bookkeeper who was in charge of each of the operations be available on the grounds.
