In 1914, a new building for female indigent patients was constructed east of the County House. It was a four-story, 200-bed brick and concrete structure. Tunnels were connected to the east wing of the County House basement. The fourth floor was fitted with an operating room. Originally designated as “Women’s Annex – ‘C’ Building,” it later became “B” Building after 1932.
